Detailed information

Urth Yarns 16 Fingering is an exquisite hand dyed wool, made with 100% extra fine merino. This fibre has unique properties that enhance the quality of your knitted projects. Each skein has been meticulously hand dyed by hand, achieving a palette of beautiful and vibrant colours that will inspire your creativity.

This wool comes in 50 gram skeins, each with a generous length of 200 metres. Its Fingering thickness, characterised by its thinness, makes it perfect for working with 2.25 to 3.5 mm needles. This choice of thickness is ideal for those looking to knit thin and light but warm garments.

The versatility of Urth Yarns 16 Fingering makes it suitable for projects for all ages. From jumpers and light jackets to scarves and hats, this yarn allows you to create soft, warm and comfortable pieces. Immerse yourself in the luxurious texture of extra fine merino and bring your knitted ideas to life with this wonderful hand dyed wool.

Composition of Urth Yarns 16 Fingering:

  • 100% Merino Extra fine Superwash Wool

Characteristics of Urth Yarns 16 Fingering:

  • Each skein contains 50 grams and 200 metres.
  • Thickness suitable for knitting or crochet needles from 2.25 to 3.5 mm.
  • A 10 centimetres sample of tension requires 28–32 stitches.
  • Hand dyed colours.
  • Machine washable on a delicate cycle, but handwashing in cold water is recommended to preserve its properties.
  • Do not tumble dry, dry flat without hanging.

The colours are fixed to stabilise the pigments, but some colours may fade or stain your hands when knitting. To avoid this problem, it is recommended to place the skein tied on a damp towel to check if the colour fades. If it does, rinse the skein in a bowl filled with water at room temperature for about 30 minutes and rinse with water until the water runs clear. Hang the skein to dry. Do not wring or twist the yarn, your skein is ready to knit!
