Scheepjes Skies Heavy

Scheepjes Skies Heavy is a thick cotton thread presented in gradient colours that are inspired by the colours of the sky and nature.

You will find blue tones from a blue sky on a spring day in the morning to a dark blue of a nightfall in autumn. You’ll also find this thread in green colours that will remind you the countryside and the mountains.

Each blue tone is unique and different. They are dyed with indigo dyes with the appearance of hand-dyed thread since the colours have a gradient effect. Its colours have a denim effect, perfect for knitting garments with a cowboy fabric finish.

You can use these skeins to create sweaters, dresses, skirts, tops and more.

This cotton is totally natural and offers a very soft touch on the skin. It is a very breathable genre that will make you feel comfortable while you’re wearing garments created with Skies.

You should know that Scheepjes Skies Heavy…

• Each skein has 100 grams and 170 metres.
• Its DK thickness is perfect to knit with the 6 mm knitting needles or crochet hooks.
• Mount 18 stitches and do 16 laps to knit a 10 x 10 cm square.
• We recommend you to wash it by hand.
• It can be ironed at a high temperature (110ºC).
• Do not use the dryer. We recommend you to dry it horizontally without hanging out.

To knit a short sleeve sweater…

• Kid – size 6 years, you will need to use 2 – 3 balls approx.
• Kid – size 10, you will need to use 3 – 4 balls approx.
• Adult – size 42, you will need to use 4 – 5 balls.

The Heavy range of Skies threads offers a DK thickness, which is perfect to knit with the 6 mm knitting needles or crochet hooks. If you want to use the same skein, but with a thinner thickness, you can use the Scheepjes Skies Light thread, the same thread but suitable for working with 3 mm knitting needles.
