Detailed information

The Magazine Pompom Issue 44 - Spring 2023 is an edition full of creativity and beauty, perfect to explore the layers and play with opacity, texture and color. Each of the pieces in this issue offers overlapping techniques and transparency, creating designs that are a true celebration of the art of knitting.

In the magazine you will find patterns and explanations for knitting sweaters, t-shirts, a cardigan, hats, textured socks and even a crochet bag.

The inspiration for this set of projects arises from the superimposition of images, such as risography, a technique of digital printing, shadows and overlapping photos, which achieves unique textures and prints.

In addition, the magazine is proud to present two amazing models for this season: Angel Joy Flores and Alicia Roth Weigel, who have modeled each project proposed in the magazine. They are two activists working hard to achieve a more equitable world for the LGBTQIA+ community in Texas and beyond. The representation of trans and intersex people is of vital importance, and Pompom is honored to collaborate with them.

The designs presented in this issue are created by talented designers such as Klara Nilsson (Klaryberry), Maren Odenthal (Knitterista), Jess Kavanagh, Julia Madill, Ara Stella, Susanna Kaarinen (Sanna and Co), Joanne Fowler, Amalia Sieber (Kindred Red) and Soraya García.

In addition to the beautiful designs, Pompom Issue 44 also includes a celebration of the art of screen printing through Mei Stephens' reflections on the parallels between printing and knitting. It also highlights Hannah McGregor’s second contribution to Pompom, this time exploring yellow and its cultural history. And for dessert lovers, the magazine offers a delicious drink recipe, an exquisite layered Goa dessert that will surely make your mouth water.
