6Detailed information
The Knitting Calculator of Pony will help you calculate the number of stitches and rows you need to obtain a concrete width and long by taking just one little sample.
How to use this calculator:
You just need a knitting sample, where you place the knitting calculator’s square window (5 x 5 cm) on top to calculate the number of stitches and rows you need for 5 x 5 cm. After this, you adjust the calculator’s dials with the arrows to the number of stitches and rows you have counted on the sample yourself – and there you go, you have the number of stitches and rows you need to obtain a certain length and width in your project.
Example:
If we place the square over a fabric where we have 17 stitches to obtain a 5-cm width and 23 rows to obtain a 5cm high we know that in order to knit a gauge of 5 x 5 cm. Once we have this, we can adapt our stitches and the rows to the centimetres we want.
- We can easily know how many stitches and rows we will do according to the cm we need. Follow the instructions below:
- At the bottom the "Number of rows" will find the rows you need to knit a 5cm-high project.
- With the movable disc "for 5 centimetres", align the black arrow with the stitches counted on your sample.
- At the top "Number of stitches" you will see the number of stitches that you will need to knit to get a 5-cm width.
- Align the number of stitches to the “for 5 centimetres” arrow. After this number 5 will point up to the number of rows and down the number of stitches we need.
- With all the discs set search for the number of centimetres that you would like to get. Once found, this will point up the number of rows (up) and the number of stitches (down).
Super gadget any knitter will appreciate. With this tool you can adapt any pattern to any size with no problem.
